Believe it or not, we are more than two-thirds of the way through the “dog days of summer.” That is right. Soon the kids will be starting back to school, and before we know it, the days will be growing shorter and temperatures will be falling once again. This can mean different things for different people making their living in this arena we fondly call the green industry. For golf course superintendents, it means aerification is just around the corner and the stress of managing cool season greens is soon to come to an end.

For others, like lawn care applicators, it is business as usual plus the added chore of aerifying, seeding, and fertilizing those cool season lawns to help repair from summer. For lawn care companies, this is quite honestly one of the most labor intensive but very important revenue-producing times of the year.
