March is a transitional month for our industry. Not only are we transitioning from winter to spring, but our customers are also transitioning into their spring work. As orders begin rolling in, now is the time for Advanced Turf’s operations and sales teams and customers to work together and collaborate as partners for a successful spring season.

Engaging in a partnership and creating collaboration between our staff and our customers will be vital for spring deliveries. Our goal is to have the product in the customer’s possession as quickly as possible, so when weather conditions allow, customers can begin production. Communicating with the customer and keeping them aware of what is going on logistics-wise with their order is a priority for our operations team.

Creating a partnership is always easier when you can see whom you are collaborating with. We have ten talented and hard-working warehouse managers, and this post will spotlight three of them. Stay tuned for other employee spotlights in future blog posts.

Meet three of the operations leadership team, who are ready to assist our customers this spring by delivering their product in a safe and timely manner.

Rob Bennett, Warehouse Manager, Cincinnati Area

Employee Since 2002

What is your favorite part of your job? “I enjoy the communication with different people and collaborating with customers to ensure they are content with the products and services we provide them.”

What is the hardest part of your job? “Delivery’s limited capability. Only so many products can be moved at one time. When we get more orders than our trucks can deliver, it becomes a hard obstacle to overcome.”

What does ATS do to create a partnership with customers to make spring deliveries successful? “We try to create great relationships with customers, regardless of what department you are in. This allows us to be more effective. Customers need to feel they can trust anyone in the company to take care of their account, whether you are in sales or operations.”

Jessica Deras, Warehouse Manger, Nashville, TN

Employee Since 2013

What is your favorite part of your job? “Interacting with customers to fulfill their needs and working with a great team of people.”

What is the hardest part of your job? “Making all the parts of a customers order and delivery come together can sometimes be challenging. There are several components involved. It takes more effort on the operations side to fulfill orders and succeed with timely delivery than what most people realize.”

What does ATS do to create a partnership with customers to make spring deliveries successful? “From start to finish, we priortize communication. Once I receive the order, I call the customer to review the order and set a delivery date. The customer is reminded the day before delivery and the driver gives notification before arriving. This service is greatly appreciated and sets us apart from the rest.”

Rob Buckner, Warehouse Manager, Fishers, IN

Employee Since 2012

What is your favorite part of your job? “Being part of the customer and employee camaraderie that develops while assisting customer needs.”

What is the hardest part of your job? “The limitations of delivery capacity. When volume is high, which is mid-March through May 1st, there is a finite amount of product we can deliver at one time and when we have a large number of orders, this can cause delivery to be challenging.”

What does ATS do to create a partnership with customers to make spring deliveries successful? “Great customer service from all employees. It starts with the sales reps and continues to the truck drivers at delivery, so we can ensure a safe and quick delivery.”
