The weather cooperated and OTF had yet another successful conference and trade show celebrating 50 years of “turf innovation”, serving the Turf Industry in Ohio and throughout the Mid West. Over 100 hours of educational seminars and 100 exhibitors made it successful. Educational seminars were well attended and trade show traffic was brisk. Early indications show attendee traffic was up 20%. I believe OHIO is the centerpiece to Turf in the US, but maybe that is because of my Scarlet & Gray personality!
What I observed and learned:
- Folks were in good spirits despite the weather and record rainfall throughout the year in Ohio
- Positive enthusiasm for 2012!
- Businesses seemed to be creative and found ways to create a profit despite the weather and economy in 2011.
- Fertilizer prices SEEM to have stabilized! (For now!)
